I Saw Pictures of your ‘BEADED ENTRYWAY’. Would You Explain What That is About?

Yes, gladly! I love this technique. I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone else doing this. Basically, we are using solid glass hemispheres to paint a picture on glass. We grind our own hemispheres right here in the shop. Some colors are available as well as clear and black & white. The hemispheres are permanently attached to the glass using a UV cured adhesive. The bond, glass-to-glass is brilliant! I actually have a video on the Video page demonstrating how well the UV adhesives perform. When everything is done correctly, it is permanent, as in ‘forever’. So, very reliable. Anyway, I love doing this technique because it always results in having created something that no one has ever seen before. Plus, it has a strong, clean look. On occasion we have used the hemispheres to represent abstract rivets. Other times we have simply thought of the glass hemispheres as pixels. And then proceeded with our design from that viewpoint. We also have the option of applying the hemispheres to just one side of the glass or on both sides allowing the design elements to overlap each other. I also, very much enjoy the tactile quality of the hemispheres standing up above the surface of the glass. One client who was having this technique applied to her shower enclosure was concerned that the resulting texture created by many hemispheres standing on the surface of her shower enclosure would make cleaning a hassle. However, we were all delighted to discover that they did not slow down or inhibit cleaning the surfaces at all. As I mentioned earlier, I really enjoy using this technique.
